My New Makeup Collection!!

So recently I picked up the infamous Alex 9 drawers from IKEA to store my makeup in, and I thought I would show you how I organised them because despite pretty much all beauty gurus having these drawers they're actually quite hard to store makeup in. The drawers don't pull out all the way so you have a lot of wasted space at the back of the drawers and nothing seems to fit perfectly its just not very aesthetically pleasing, unless you have like £50 acrylic inserts to divide the drawers which in my opinion sort of defeats the point of getting the drawers in the first place because 9 drawers for £95 is a steal. But I tried my best and here is what my makeup collection currently looks like...

So on top of my drawers I have a beauty bay box in the back, with a mirror and three plant pots, all from Ikea (pretty much everything is from Ikea) to put my brushes in, the pot on the left has my face brushes in, the middle one has my eye brushes and the pot on the right has my Go-To brushes.

First drawer, we have foundations, they're in the top cause I reach for them the most and its just easiest to see what ones I have when I lay them down like this.

Next drawer, we have tube foundations and BB creams as well as concealers on the top tray but underneath the top tray you can take it out and that is where I keep my lesser used foundations and tinted moisturizers.

Next drawer is setting powders to the left, with lip balms behind that and in the right hand compartment we have bronzers, both powder and liquids.

Next we have setting sprays and primers (prep and set) to the left of the drawers and on the right we have blushes and highlighter with a mix of powders, creams, liquids.

Under that we have the eyes and eyebrow drawer, in the top tray we have all this to do with eyebrows with pomades, powders, pencils, gels and tints. And under the tray insert you can take it out and you have mascaras and lashes and liquid eye shadows and single eye shadows.

Next drawer is for my pallets, in the right hand box closest to you when you open the draw you have face pallets because I use them the most and in the pot closest to the back you have eye shadow palettes. Down the side and underneath is where I keep my palettes that are too wide to fit in the tubs and underneath are palettes that are too tall to stand up.

Last but not least we have lips, using the same insert as the eyebrow stuff is where I keep my small selection of liners, lipsticks, glosses, liquid lipsticks and lash glue and underneath is where I keep my standard lipsticks.

In the drawers I didn't show is where I'm keeping my current makeup bag that I haven't packed away yet because I'll need it for a trip in a few days so I'm just keeping it packed up in there,

Another thing about the Alex 9 drawers that is important to mention is that although the same design they do not fit the same as the Alex 5 drawers! The 5 drawers are much longer so you can fit more in, so bare that in mind when you're ordering inserts for your drawers.

CLOTHING DUPES !!

Ok so one thing I would say I'm quite good at is shopping online. I spend a lot of money a week on clothes and trolling through the internet for new YouTubers doing makeup dupes but not so many talking about clothing dupes which can be just as handy to know.

So the first dupe I found probably couldn't be considered a dupe, buttttt, there is a few you can save a few coins for essentially the same dress. So the more expensive version is this Shake and Shimmer Embellished mini dress from Oh Polly. The dress is £36 and also just a side note, the dress is a bit see-through which is not what you want when you're most likely going to be taking photos with flash photography.

So the dupe for this dress although its only £1 cheaper, bare with me, Pretty Little Thing tend to have a lot of promotions going on, e.g. 20% off, 15% off, etc. Although both websites do offer student discount PLT has 10% off and so does Oh Polly, so its up to you and what other offers the websites are offering at that time.

Now quite a few of these dupes are from Oh Polly to Pretty Little Thing because I love basically all of Oh Polly's things but my bank account doesn't...

The next dupe is the Oh Polly Light It Up Cowl Neck Chainmail Mini Dress in Silver and Gold

Ok so these dresses are £75 each!! and they only come in one size and obviously not everyone is one size although it looks stunning, this ones from Pretty Little Thing are only £40 each and range in sizes 4-16 which is amazing.

Although a little more similar to the Oh Polly one is the Chainmail Diamante Strap Dress for £45 each although again they only come in one size which is annoying butttt, they come in more colour choices.

A Three-Way Dupe now is from Meshki they have their Ruby Diamante Strap Mini Dress for £52

And the first Dupe is from Oh Polly and is the Diamond in the Buff Diamante Strap Mini Dress for £38

This dress comes in Brown and Ivory and the straps add a little something to the dress. If you want the same sort of thing for a bit cheaper... Pretty Little Thing have Diamante Strap Bodycon Dress for £20 from their Shape range perfect for Curvier girls.

It comes in Black...

and they come in sizes 6-20. As well as the mini dresses Pretty Little Thing offer, if you don't want to show as much leg, they have the Diamante Strap Straight Neck Midi Dress for £5 extra than the mini dress

Neck Dress I wanted to talk about is the One Track Mind Lace Up Ruche Mini Dress for £28.
Oh Polly offer Black and Mocha as their colour choices.

Pretty Little Thing offer multiple different versions of these dresses so i'll mention them all even if they're not an exact dupe just in case you see something you prefer.

Now this isn't much cheaper at £25 but again PLT always have offer and any difference is a difference. They also offer it in the colour grey.

Both these dresses are from their Plus range which offers sizes 18-24.

Another type of dress that is really similar which I have purchased before is the same style but just in mesh, its £25 again and my best friend put it on and OMG she looked stunninggggg!!!!

and Kim K also wore a similar dress...

The PLT one is see-through hence the name mesh, so you do need black underwear unless you're all about the al-naturel look then you do you boo.

The final dress from Oh Polly that I haven't found an exact dupe for but similar match is the Pure And Simple Thigh Split Satin Bandeau Dress for £35.

As I said PLT don't offer exact matches but similar and for the price difference its worth it. For £15 PLT have the Bandeau Satin Split Bodycon Dress

They also offer a Teal version and a Burgundy version.

One other reason (other than price) that I love looking for dupes is when I haven't ordered from a certain brand before and I want the same thing but don't know if I trust the site. Meshki Is a brand I've seen a lot of on Instagram and their stuff is all beautiful but sooo expensive so I've looked for some dupes.

One dress they sell is the Diamante String Mini Dress in Champagne for £58

Selina Diamante String Mini Dress - Champagne - MESHKI

Who would've though Oh Polly would be the dupe for this dress but they are! As part of their One Million Collection they released this Sparks Will Fly Metallic Knit Mini Dress In Cream for £32.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a dupe for a Dress from Meshki called the Alessia Diamante Panel Dress for £76!!

Bear in mind Meshki only offer sizes XS-S-M-L so not very specific about sizes but if you do want to order from them I suggest checking their size guide.

Now, you'll be shook at this dupe, I was so shocked I ordered it myself! It's again from Pretty Little Thing called their Satin Bandeau Extreme Split Diamante Detail Bodycon Dress for £25.

As I said I ordered this dress from Pretty Little Thing I looked stunning, only thing I would say Is there is no stretch to it so if you have slightly bigger boobs bear that in mind.

Ok so were at the end of this extremely long list of dupes, so as you can see that if you're dying to get an expensive dress their probably are dupes out their you can investigate. I hope this post helps, or at least entertained you with all the pretty dresses.

Thank you for reading :) x
